Geek Shock #146 – Chicken Skin Beanbag

cc146

Put down that beanbag and face front! E3 is upon us and we wouldn’t be doing our duty if we didn’t chime in but that’s not all the geekery that has happened this week as we discuss Scream TV, Blatty’s Blatt, Totally Blacked Out, Hell’s Kitchen Nightmare, World War Zzzzzzzz, cooking your penis for others, Go green (or go home green), Stuff you already bought: Phase 1, Who’s 50th, Star Wars: Deadwood, and Ready Flux Capacitor One! So set the saucepan heat to medium, it’s time for a Geek Shock!

  1. Hi Guys!

Listened to the GeekShock today while at the dentist. I was hoping that the loud annoying noises I hear would be drowned out. I didn’t work though. I could still hear Paul over the sound of the dentists drill. :)

Great show as always. One thing I am getting tired of as well is all of the non-gaming stuff at E3. Industry show or not, I’m getting tired of the focus on all the “look what else we can do” add on stuff. If we didn’t have computers and tablets that can do the same thing, and do it better I would be more impressed. I wish they would stop trying to artificially extend the life of their current consoles, and just give us the new ones that look and play games as well as current PC’s can.

As to the Ready Player One DeLorean contest, I was lucky enough to figure out the egg, and play the game at the first gate. It’s actually a custom game made for the contest (or possibly a hack of another 2600 game) called “Stacks”. It’s a bit like Elevator Action Meets Pitfall, sprinkled with a dash of Impossible Mission. I got the egg in the game, and am currently awaiting the next gate (game) to open up on July 1st. :)

I wish there was a scoreboard of players in the game to give me an idea of how many others are waiting, but it’s a pretty damn great way to pay back the books fans. I’ll keep you updated good or bad.

BTW you’ll probably cover this on your next show, but if you haven’t already seen it, check out the trailer for the new Disney Movie Wreck-It Ralph. Looks like a winner!

    Keep up the Shock,

    Evan

p.s. A bit late but when I first saw the title “Assful Chaps” I was thinking it would be about an English Gay Porno. Not sure if that would have been better or not than what it was. :)
