CouchCast 19 is chock full of peanut butter and awesome. Seriously.

  1. Guitar Hero, while being the inferior music game franchise, has done a couple things right with Guitar Hero 5. I have yet to pick it up, but reading about the party mode I really hope Rock Band steals it for themselves. Not sure if you guys have read about it but it’s no-fail and allows anybody to join in a song midway through. They allow any combination of instruments and if you want to leave halfway through the song it’ll quit you out automatically. While seeming quite odd at first , having played Rock Band at parties, I think this is a fantastic implement. People don’t want to play bass, people realize a difficulty’s too easy or hard in the middle of the song. I think we’ll see something along these lines from Rock band in the next title.

A cool thing on a related note that I’m not sure if you guys have mentioned in the past is the Rock Band Network. Where they’re going to release their track creation software to the public so if you have publishing rights to music, like say your own bands music, you can get your songs into rock band and even collect commission on the sales. Good stuff. I really think this is a huge step forward for the music gaming industry and community for that matter.

Also, Clone High was a pretty decent MTV show.

  2. I would like to see RB with it’s own party mode as well, but I’m still waiting for GH to give us a decent “campaign” mode. Rock Band knocked it out of the park with their touring mode: choose your gig, hire staff, gain fans, and incorporate purchased tracks. If Hero can get a band experience together instead of just hopping on to some instruments for awhile, I’m sold. So far, it’s just a party game. RB makes me feel like I’m working for a goal.

Never saw Clone High. Saw Degrassi though. Degrassi is the F’n shit.
