The Geek Shock Minecraft Server IS LIVE!

Here it is. The official Geek Shock Minecraft Server is upon us. It is a modded (Attack of the B Team modpack), survival server free of charge to Geek Shock listeners (although donations may be accepted soon if you have the feels). The server has five rules:

1. No Griefing (Don’t be a dick!)
2. No stealing other people’s stuff (trust me, there’s plenty to go around)
3. If you prank someone, leave a sign so the world knows who pranked them. (Pranks highly encouraged)
4. Build away from spawn (A temporary safe zone has been created there, including a free community chest, farm and workshop. This site will later serve as a community village build)
5. PvP is allowed, but not necessarily encouraged. (Be sure to follow rule #1)

And that is it for rules. The mod pack is designed for builders and adventurers alike. You folks who normally play in creative mode can soon gain powers that will make you feel right at home. I put together this Video as a welcome to the server and some tips for maneuvering the modpack:

To join us, you first must download and install the Technic Launcher at http://www.technicpack.net/download/

Once it is installed and attached to your Minecraft account, you need to do three things:

1. Select “Attack of the B Team” from the mod selections on the left.
2. Go to the settings by clicking the gear in the upper right hand corner.
3. Change the amount of dedicated computer Ram to a value of at least 2GB. The more you can spare, the better your experience.

Then hit play!

Minecraft will load up. Don’t be alarmed if it takes longer (it may even say “Not Responding”), be patient. The modpack has over 110 mods, so it takes longer to load.

Once the game has started, go to multiplayer and add the following ip address: mc38.serverminer.com:25897

It may take a few attempts for your initial log on.

It is a whitelisted server (i.e. invite only). Those who have already given me their Minecraft User Names are already on the list. If you haven’t given me your name yet, just put it in the comments below and we will get you added. If you are uncomfortable leaving your user name in the comments, you can always email me at mastertorgo@uglycouchshow.com. You can also leave server questions in either location and I will answer them to the best of my ability.

  9. Hey Todd it still says I am not listed… :'( I am not sure what the problem is, I was hoping if you could help me out with that.

    1. I’ve double checked your the list and resaved it. you are on there. I have you in as LittleSexMuffin. Keep trying.

      1. Done. However, the update screwed up steam turbines and now they’re not accepting water. So, all the work on my public factory is for naught. I’m going to slowly convert it all over to solar power, unless I can get some magma cream and blaze rods to also get some magma power going. Power input seems to be an issue with galacticraft machines vs. the other ones.

  11. Alright, here’s a weird one; yesterday, I got disconnected from the server, and since then, I haven’t been able to reconnect. I can’t even tell whether the server is working. Is it just me (and something got screwed up), or is something going on with the server, or is it something else…?

    1. Yeah, we’re having server issues. A ticket has been submitted to admin. Hopefully things will be golden soon.

      1. We found the culprit. Cooking things from other mods in the MrCrayfish Furniture mod apparently puts servers in a crash loop. Unfortunately the only fix we had was deleting and reinstalling the mod. That means you lost all your cool furniture. Sorry, but it was the only way to save the server. Most of it can be rebuilt (Just don’t build the oven)

  15. The server issue has been solved! It turns out that the Mr. Crayfish Furniture mudpack has a wonky block.

    DO NOT BUILD THE OVEN!!!

    If you attempt to cook things that the oven isn’t meant for (Stuff from the FoodPlus mod for example) it crashes the server.

    I had to delete the mod and then reinstate it. Unfortunately that means that anything you built from the mod is gone and will need to be rebuilt. (Sorry Duncan)

    Until that mod is updated, NO BUILDING OF OVENS!

  19. A lot of connection problems to the server today 5/3 anyone else having issues?

  20. Can someone do me a favor?..i built an airship right over my animal pens…evidently it’s bugged i crash everytime i sign in. If some one could bust the helm maybe it would stop the cycle…

  21. After some research it might have been caused by using Carpenter’s blocks on an Archimedies construct…so feel free to destroy the entire ship…everytime i log in i can’t dismount the helm before the game crashes.

      1. I think the ship may be spawning in with you. tonight, when I reset the server, I’ll try installing and reinstalling the mod like I did with Mr. Crayfish. Maybe then it will start you at spawn.

  22. Thanks Todd, doesn’t look like it worked though. Tried deleting all my local info. Still Crashing, can you get to my player.dat file?…if that’s deleted i might get kicked to the spawn. If not i’ll just post on the Attack of the B-team forums see if they have a suggestion…

  25. So! Quick note, I’ve been toying with Flan’s Mod. After some research, I built some guns, and started to test some.

    Firstly, sniper scopes don’t seem to work. This is a mod-wide problem, don’t worry about it.

    Secondly, you can’t mod the guns, because placing them in the gun modding table… uh… crashes the server.

    Don’t worry about it, once you exit the inventory it drops the gun. So that fixes itself, thankfully. But otherwise, it does seem to be a bit broken.
