Cheese Omelet Moustache Champion

The 2009 World Beard and Moustache Championships were held in Anchorage, Alaska, May 23, 2009. Normally I wouldn’t bother taking an interest in this story, but I was surfing Fark.com and was curious to see photos of the winners. When I got to the Freestyle Moustache category and saw who won, I about lost my mind.

“Holy crap, I know this guy!”

Indeed, that is none other than Keith Haubrich aka Gandhi Jones aka DJ Cheese Omelet, 1st place winner in the Freestyle Moustache catergory, 2009 World Beard and Moustache Championships. I knew that guy when I was going to UNLV. He used to hang out at the Cafe Copioh with us most nights. There was this one time at a party at his place where he made magic brownies and regular brownies and I got obliterated because I ate from the wrong pile and there was a noise band playing called, ironically, Police Moustache. Good times!

Anyway, it’s too small a world when I can randomly look in Fark and see people I know doing weird stuff on the world stage. Good on him and his moustache.
